Aufgabe 1 – Passiv Simple Present

  1. The houses are painted every year.
  2. These songs are sung by the choir.
  3. English is spoken in many countries.
  4. The homework is checked by the teacher.
  5. New games are developed all the time.

Present Passiv = am/is/are + 3. Form. Einzahl → is (English, homework), Mehrzahl → are (houses, songs, games). sing ist unregelmäßig → sung.

Aufgabe 2 – Passiv Simple Past

  1. The letter was written yesterday.
  2. The window was broken last night.
  3. The bridge was built in 1990.
  4. Four dams were destroyed on the Klamath River.
  5. The photos were taken by a photographer.

Past Passiv = was/were + 3. Form. Mehrzahl → were (dams, photos). Unregelmäßig: write→written, break→broken, build→built, take→taken; destroy ist regelmäßig → destroyed.

Aufgabe 3 – Aktiv → Passiv

  1. English is spoken here.
  2. The match was won (by the team).
  3. The bugs are fixed (by a programmer).
  4. Many illnesses were brought (by Europeans).

Objekt wird Subjekt, Zeit bleibt gleich (Present↔Present, Past↔Past). Der Macher kommt mit by, wenn er wichtig ist. bring→brought (unregelmäßig).

Fürs Passiv zählt die 3. Form (rechts). „-n"-Endungen: sung, thrown, known, ridden, fallen. Bei send/pay/sell sind 2. und 3. Form gleich (sent, paid, sold).

Aufgabe 5 – Verneinung & Fragen

  1. The car is not (isn't) washed.
  2. The dams were not (weren't) destroyed.
  3. Was the photo taken by you?
  4. Are the bugs fixed?

not steht hinter „be"; in der Frage wandert „be" an den Anfang. Das Hauptverb (3. Form) bleibt unverändert.

Aufgabe 7 – Linking words & Meinung

Aufgabe 8 – Reading: Swimming in the desert

  1. A desert gets less than ten inches (25 cm) of rain a year.
  2. It wants to buy the wells in the town (Agua Dulce).
  3. Because the water is important for everyone in the town.
Erklärhilfe
In ganzen Sätzen antworten und eigene Worte nutzen. Frage 3 zielt auf das „contrast"-Thema: einzelner Verkauf ↔ Wohl der Gemeinschaft.

Aufgabe 9 – Writing: Should we use AI?

Musterlösung:

I think we should use AI, but only carefully. Firstly, a lot of time is saved by AI and information is found very fast. Secondly, AI can help with boring work. However, wrong information is sometimes given by AI, and our own writing skills aren't practised enough. All in all, I think AI is useful, but we shouldn't use it for everything.
