Aufgabe 1 – Passiv Simple Present
- My game is designed to adapt to the player.
- The player's results are analysed.
- The bugs are fixed by the programmers.
- First, the demo is tested.
- Important decisions are made by AI.
- Today AI is used in lots of different ways.
Erklärhilfe
Present Passiv = am/is/are + 3. Form.
Einzahl → is (game, demo, AI), Mehrzahl → are (results, bugs, decisions).
make ist unregelmäßig → made; analyse/fix/test/design/use sind regelmäßig (-ed).
Aufgabe 2 – Passiv Simple Past
- … were killed by white settlers.
- Many illnesses were brought by the Europeans.
- Native land was taken by the government.
- Ninety per cent of Yurok land was taken from them.
- Later, some land was given back.
- The last wild condors were caught in 1987.
Erklärhilfe
Past Passiv = was/were + 3. Form.
Mehrzahl → were (people, illnesses, condors), Einzahl → was (land).
Unregelmäßig: bring→brought, take→taken, give→given, catch→caught.
Aufgabe 3 – Videospiel entwickeln (Passiv)
- Characters and levels are designed.
- Music and sound effects are added.
- Any bugs are fixed by programmers.
Erklärhilfe
Mehrzahl-Subjekte → are + 3. Form. Der Macher kommt mit by
(„by programmers"), wenn er genannt wird. Muster wie im Buch: The idea is chosen.
Aufgabe 4 – Linking words
Firstly, we drove to the national park. Then we walked to the tallest trees.
After that, we built a campfire and made s'mores. Finally, we drove home – tired but happy.
Erklärhilfe
Zeitliche Reihenfolge: Firstly → Then → After that → Finally.
Sie strukturieren einen Bericht und gehören in jeden guten Writing-Text.
Aufgabe 5 – Vokabeln
| English | Deutsch | English | Deutsch |
| condor | Kondor | wildlife | Tierwelt |
| drought | Dürre / Trockenheit | salmon | Lachs |
| dam | (Stau-)Damm | to protect | schützen |
| to develop | entwickeln | decision | Entscheidung |
| well (Wasser) | Brunnen | tribe | Stamm |
Erklärhilfe
Verwechslungsgefahr: well = Brunnen (auch „gut"),
drought [draut] = Dürre, salmon – das „l" ist stumm [ˈsæmən].
Aufgabe 6 – Reading: Tony's blog
- T – „over 116 metres" ist mehr als 90 m.
- T – der höchste Baum ist höher als die Freiheitsstatue.
- F – He didn't see any bears, although more than a hundred live there.
- F – He enjoyed it because he saw and learned many new things (nicht wegen des Wetters).
Aufgabe 7 – Reading: Hoopa & Klamath
- Dams were built on their rivers.
- Thousands of salmon were destroyed (because the water levels went down).
- Because four dams were destroyed, so they hope the number of salmon will rise again.
Erklärhilfe
Schöne Gelegenheit fürs Passiv: dams were built,
salmon were destroyed, four dams were destroyed. In ganzen Sätzen antworten.
Aufgabe 8 – Diagramm (Condors)
- 42 years
- the source of the data
- has risen
- less than half were in the wild
Erklärhilfe
source = Quelle, rise = (an)steigen
(rise–rose–risen). 1980 sehr wenige → 2022 über 500 = gestiegen. „less than half" = weniger als die Hälfte.
Aufgabe 9 – Should we use AI?
Beispiele:
- Dafür: I think we should use AI because time is saved by AI.
- Dagegen: I hear what you're saying, but our writing skills aren't practised when AI does the work.
Erklärhilfe
Wichtig sind eine Meinungs-Phrase (I think we should…/I hear what you're saying, but…)
und mindestens ein Passivsatz im Present (time is saved, skills aren't practised,
wrong information is given). Andere richtige Argumente sind natürlich auch okay.
Aufgabe 10 – Writing: Travel blog post
Musterlösung:
Last summer we visited Pinnacles National Park in central California. We slept in a tent at a
friendly campground. First, we hiked through the caves; then we saw raccoons and many birds – but no condors.
The best part was the view from the rocks. One evening our food was almost eaten by a raccoon, which was
really annoying. All in all, it was an exciting trip because I learned so many new things.
Erklärhilfe: Bewertungs-Checkliste
- Zeitform: durchgehend Simple Past?
- 3 Leitfragen: wo geschlafen / was gesehen & gemacht / gut oder schlecht + warum?
- Linking words: First/Then/Finally, All in all?
- Mind. 1 Passivsatz (z. B. our food was eaten)?
- Unit-4-Wortschatz (campground, wildlife, hike, annoying …)?
Hinweis: kleine Abweichungen in Wortwahl/Reihenfolge sind beim Schreiben völlig in Ordnung.
